Semtech’s Pb-free parts are designated with a unique suffix. Devices with part number suffix ending in “T” or "LF" are Pb-free. Halogen Free or Low: According to the industry organizations, the term low-halogen has not been clearly defined in the industry and is not a regulatory requirement in any worldwide legislation, although it is being used in the industry.

To eliminate any confusion in terms of the definition of low-halogen, IEC 61249-2-21 and JS709 standards provides a concise definition to identify passive and solid-state devices containing low concentrations of bromine and chlorine, from brominated and chlorinated flame retardants (BFRs, CFRs) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).
